Our Story
The Mocha Puddle Bakery & Café is an exciting and unique bakery and café located in Lusaka, Zambia. Founded in 2017, we started baking gluten-free goods on a part time basis. We soon realized that the need for high quality gluten-free products was much bigger than we initially thought. In 2019, we moved to full time baking and in October 2020, we opened our café.
We are proud to be Zambia's only entirely gluten-free bakery and café . Our wide range of offerings include freshly baked goods to take home, ready meals, premixes, and delicious meals and drinks at our café. We strive to provide our customers with a delightful experience that is both delicious and nutritious, whether or not you have any dietary restrictions.

Empowering Women
We believe that everyone can learn a new skill, whether it’s from us, the man down the street, or "The University of YouTube." We also believe that everyone deserves to make a living in a dignified way. To that end, we have created a training program that teaches women without a complete education the principles of baking and small business management.
These women come to train at The Mocha Puddle Bakery & Café for a minimum of two years through on-the-job training. They start at minimum wage, which increases as they gain knowledge and skills.
Our aim is for these women to leave the program knowing they have a choice to start their own business or become exceptional employees in an already-established business.
